Before we start

Fill this in before our first call. It means I turn up already knowing your music, your setup and what you're chasing, so we spend the hour working instead of catching up. Takes about ten minutes. Skip anything you're not sure about.

The basics, quickly.

How long you've been at it, any training, what you play, what you do for a living.
Be honest, it decides how we pace the three months.

The music you want to make

This is the part I care about most. Be specific.

The genre, the feeling, where it would be heard. A film, a game, a trailer, a record.
Name the exact cue or track where you can, not just the composer. That tells me far more.
In your own words, even if you can't name it technically. "It sounds thin", "it never goes anywhere", that kind of thing.
Starting, finishing, orchestration, mixing, the middle section, losing interest.

Your music

Send links. YouTube, SoundCloud, Drive, anything I can play.

This one usually teaches me more than the good ones. Tell me what bothers you about it.

Your setup

So I know what I'm working with before we open anything.

And how comfortable are you in it, honestly?
Strings, brass, percussion, piano, synths, whatever you actually use.
Keyboard, audio interface, speakers or headphones. Headphones only is completely fine, I just need to know.
Switching DAW, new libraries, upgrading something. Worth knowing before you spend money.

The three months
